"The future of humanity passes by way of the family" – John Paul II, Familiaris Consortio, 86.
“Today, if they are to give a truly human face to society, no people can ignore the precious good of the family, founded on marriage. ‘The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring’. (can 1055): this is the foundation of the family and the patrimony and common good of humanity.” (Letter to Participants in the Fifth World Meeting of Families, Pope Benedict XVI).
The Marriage and Family Life Office (Marfam Office) promotes the truth, goodness and beauty of marriage and family life. It draws on Catholic teaching to support marriage and family as one of the main foundations of a healthy and flourishing society.
To this end, Marfam Office offers:
• Marriage preparation
• Training in Facilitation for the Parenting Skills Programme
• A workshop and retreat for divorced Catholics
• Skills based discussion group for married women and men whose spouses choose not to participate
• Lent & Easter, as well as Advent and Christmas customs for families
• A workshop on deepening your capacity to value another
• Widows & widowers workshop
• Marriage enrichment: Couple-to-Couple Ministry.
